The XCell Wound Dressing is a sterile product composed of cellulose, water, and 0.3% polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB). The pads and packing rope are presented in a single-use peelable pouch for ease of removing the dressing.
Features
  • For infected and non-infected wounds: XCell® AM is indicated for use on infected and non-infected wounds.
  • XCell® AM specifically: 1) Reduces bacterial burden, 2) Enables continuous autolytic debridement and 3) Actively manages the moisture within the wound bed.
  • Reduces risk of infection: XCell® AM has been shown to be effective in reducing risk of infection by bacteria, fungi and other microbes.
  • Exudate absorption: XCell® AM provides excellent absorption capabilities for normally exudating wounds — removing an average of 7.5 grams of exudate in a single dressing. Because XCell® AM is engineered to stop absorbing when the wound reaches moisture balance, XCell® AM greatly reduces the risk of overdrying the wound.
  • Tissue hydration: XCell® AM can donate an average of 9 grams of water to the wound, starting immediately upon application. This will constantly hydrate the wound bed as needed, with little-to-no maceration at the wound’s margin.
  • Autolytic debridement: XCell® AM promotes autolytic debridement with the right balance of moisture, providing the environment for the removal of necrotic tissue throughout the entire healing process.
