Medline Arglaes Antimicrobial Silver Film is a sterile highly 'breathable' transparent film dressing that contains controlled-release, microscopic particles of ionic silver. The silver acts as an antimicrobial to help protect against infection. Post-operative infections are obviously a major problem in terms of trauma to the patient and the costs associated with treating the infection. Arglaes can help protect incision sites by providing up to a seven-day barrier against infection.

Applying Arglaes Film

• Cleanse wound with normal saline or wound cleanser and gently dry surrounding area.
• With one hand, hold the white tab, printed side face up. With other hand, peel away the release sheet.
• The adhesive surface is now exposed. Turn the dressing over so it faces the wound.
• Apply dressing centrally over the wound. Gently press it on skin surrounding the wound. Ensure edges of the dressing are fixed in place.
• Peel white tab away from the film dressing & smooth down the remaining edge.
• Gently peel away second release sheet.

When to change / reapply Arglaes Film

• Can be left in place up to 7 days, or as directed.
• Change if excess fluid causes the dressing to leak.

Removing Arglaes Film

• Gently lift up one corner of the dressing and, while supporting the skin with the other hand, slowly peel the dressing off in the direction of hair growth.
